Testing Your Alarm System

Testing an alarm is a very simple process, however, most home and business owners simply forget or forgo the test altogether because they just don't realize how easy it is. If you have a home or business alarm and want to test your system, we are going to walk you through the steps.

*BEFORE you start these steps, make sure you know your password. If you are unsure of your password, call the office and we can give it to you, after you verify a phone number on the account.*

STEP 1: Make sure all windows and doors are shut. If you have children or pets, make sure they are not playing/moving in front of the motion detector. Go to the keypad, the READY light should be green. ARM the system by typing in your 4 digit code.

STEP 2: Go to a door or window that is INSTANT. (there is no delay time/the siren sounds instantly) Open that door/window and let the alarm go off for 45-60 seconds. Type in your code to disarm the system.

STEP 3: Wait for a phone call from the Central Monitoring Station. They will call the first number on the account. (We can tell you what number you have first on the account, if you call the office) When the Central Station calls, give them your password and tell them you were testing the system.

If you DO NOT receive a call from the CS call our office immediately so we can check your signals and set up a service call, if necessary, to fix any problems.

Testing the system is the only way to ensure that the alarm is working the way it is supposed to. We recommend that our customers test their systems once a month. If you have any questions or concerns about testing your system, please call the office. (870) 735-1503.

Have a great weekend!
